Hair Rigs
This is the original Carp rigs, the bait is mounted on a hair and held in place with a boilie stop. This leaves the hook clear to get a really good hook hold, Often made with a coated braid such as Korda N Trap or Korda Kamo, the coating is stripped of till just before the kicker, this creates a hinge and exaggerates the anti eject mechanics of the rig. By using coated braid this also helps to prevent tangles. Due to the versatility of this carp rig it can be used with all manner of baits
Blowback Rigs
This is a tweak on the classic hair rig, its where either a Rig ring or a bit of silicone sleeve is added to the shank of the hook which allows the bait to be pushed up towards the eye when the Carp spits out the bait during their normal feeding action, when they spit out the bait the rig ring will slideup towards the eye creating a pivot point on the hook forcing the point to face downwards to grip inside the lip. The mechanics of this rig is what makes this a very popular rig today!
